HASCI Services
Head and Spinal Cord Injury (HASCI) Services provides community based services and supports for eligible individuals with acquired brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, or similar disabilities. Our innovative program focuses on increasing individuals’ capacity for independent living, community participation, and employment. We also partner with the Brain Injury Association of SC to provide a monthly support group for brain injury survivors, their families, and professionals.
How We Help
Head and Spinal Cord Injury (HASCI) Center offers Day Activity and Career Preparation services in a community setting. We are open Monday through Friday 9:30am-2:30 pm.
Day Activity Services provide opportunities to build and maintain cognitive skills, coping skills, wellness, and social skills. Individuals participate in activities such as creative arts, cooking, exercise, therapeutic games, volunteering, and community outings.
Career Preparation Services help develop prevocational and vocational skills including career exploration, soft skills, resume preparation, and strategies to overcome cognitive and physical barriers to employment. Thrive Upstate also offers group and individual employment opportunities.
Independent Living Skills (ILS) Training ILS services are provided in the participant’s home or community settings, with a focus on building independence in areas such as money management,
health/nutrition, personal safety, coping skills, and more.
