The Garden & Greenhouse

The Garden & Greenhouse Project provides opportunities for people with disabilities to learn to cultivate, grow, and harvest vegetables, herbs, plants, and flowers to be used for teaching about nutritional benefits, preparation and cooking in an industrial kitchen setting.

Who We Help

The primary goal of The Garden & Greenhouse Project is to assist people with significant intellectual and physical disabilities in a meaningful activity as well as to facilitate community integration with normally developing neighbors.  The program’s objectives are as follows:

  • Promote the independence of individuals through structured choice, community integration, and the enhancement of socialization skills, as evidenced by positive progress on each individual’s person-centered treatment plan.
  • Provide individuals with training and job skills that will eventually allow them to locate and maintain jobs in the private sector, as evidenced by progress in soft skills in the individual’s treatment plans.
